ABOUT LADY ELE
Born to a Swedish mother and Tunisian father who started her musical journey playing violin and writing songs in Sweden. Childhood challenges forced Lady Ele to become stronger and determined to go for her dream, to be an artist thanks to listening to uplifting artists like Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Mary J.Blige, Erykah Badu and many others.
She started her career singing in bands, choirs & won several talent shows in Sweden where she also worked as background singer for Swedish R’n’B, rap and pop artists. She then moved to Los Angeles where she attended Musicians Institute and received an associates degree in music: vocal performance, recording & production.
Her debut album released in 2008 titled “She, Her, Ele” was partly self produced with 3 of the 10 songs played on Swedish radio Metropol 93.8 and others. Sony/BMG of Sweden A&R Joachim Stenhammar voiced interest in Lady Ele on national TV Channel 5′s "Hitmakers" where she was invited to perform her song “Who is that man?”.
Music journalists & critics named her: “A HOT CANDIDATE TO BECOME THE NEW SOUL DIVA OF SWEDEN WITH HER JAZZY, NEO SOULTRY SOUND”.
In Hollywood, Lady Ele auditioned and was chosen to sing back up for Stevie Wonder during his annual “House full of toys concert ” and later sang back up vocals for artist & grammy winning producer Sleepy Brown (Dungeon Family & Outkast crew) and who also signed her to his record label, 13 Black Records.
In 2013, Lady Ele released a new EP called “Coming from a Lady” which landed her a NAACP Image Award Nomination for “Outstanding World Music Album”, the category was won by Natalie Cole.
